How to Find the Perfect Gift for Those 'Hard to Shop For' People On Your List
It’s a wonderful feeling when you give someone the perfect gift. The person is genuinely delighted and you know they’ll actually use the gift. Both parties are pleased. But what do you do when you despise shopping? (Gasp) Blasphemy! It’s true, some of us end up wandering around the mall aimlessly, feeling overwhelmed and uninspired until you settle on something mediocre and call it a day.
If you haven’t guessed, I’m talking about myself. Shopping stresses me out. I’m an adult. I’m creative. I’m usually a considerate human being. Why is finding a good gift so hard?!
This year I’m trying to start early and make a plan. Gathering ideas and making thoughtful purchases, instead of last minute panic buys that go straight to Goodwill or the trash. I’ll be doing a combination of local holiday markets and online shopping to avoid the mall fiasco altogether. Sweet baby Jesus, it’s a Christmas miracle! Holy Hanukkah dreidel! You get the point. It’s exciting stuff.
To assist with this, I came up with a worksheet to get the ideas flowing. Before you start shopping, use this pdf to brainstorm gift ideas that are creative, fun, useful, memorable, and perfectly tailored to the person in mind. It may take a few minutes, but it’s better to take a little time upfront, instead of wasting time and money later on.
You can use one worksheet for each person on your shopping list, even the hardest to shop for. You know who they are – the sister who’s practically a professional shopper, the techy husband who has the most expensive taste, the picky mother-in-law, or the best friend who has everything. This is your time to shine! This year you'll surprise and delight them!
