Animal Pun Valentines to Print at Home for Your Children's Classroom Party
On Friday, I picked up my daughter from daycare and there was a cute little note in her bag. It was announcing their class Valentine's Day party. Toddlers handing out Valentines?! Come on, how adorable! Each child bringing Valentines to hand out to the class was recommended. Of course, I'm all in.
Time for some last minute homemade Valentines!
I'm a new Mom and daughter hasn't been in daycare very long, so the thought of a Valentine's Day party with her class hadn't even crossed my mind. I make greeting cards for a living and I hadn't even considered cards for children so small! I was excited, but unprepared and low on time.
Since my weekend had a whole 15 minutes of free time, I whipped up some simple but cute printable Valentines. Animal puns seemed appropriate for young children. Sweet animal illustrations in bright bold colors are fun for little friends at school or daycare.
Since my daughter is too young to sign her name, I plan on breaking out the fingerprint to do a handprint on the back of each card. I'll also be mailing these to our family and baby friends that are out of town. Honestly, I'll find any excuse to finger paint with my little girl.
There's two pdf sheets to download, 8 card designs total.
Sheet 1
- Some bunny likes you! – bunny
- We get along swimming – jellyfish
- You're totally magical – unicorn
- You're greeeeat! – lion
Sheet 2
- I like hanging with you! – monkey
- I whaley like you – whale
- You quack me up! – duck
- You're puuuuurfect – cat
Printing + Paper
The pdf files are set up to have 4 cards fit on a standard letter sized sheet. Print them and trim along the thin gray guide lines. I would recommend using any card stock paper, the thicker the better. But if you're like me and doing this the night before, you gotta get creative and use what you have around the house. You could print them on regular thin printer paper and glue them onto colored construction paper to make them more sturdy and durable.
If you're including candy, punch a hole at the top corner of each card and attach to candy with a ribbon or twine.
